Description: THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR…
EAST CENTRAL ORANGE COUNTY IN SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA…
* UNTIL 730 AM PST
* AT 420 AM PST…DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED SHOWERS WITH HEAVY
RAINFALL AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS MOVING INTO THE SILVERADO BURN
AREA. RAINFALL EXCEEDING ONE HALF INCH OR MORE IN ONE HOUR COULD
CAUSE FLASH FLOODING AND MUD AND DEBRIS FLOWS.
EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OVER THE BURN SCAR WILL RESULT IN DEBRIS FLOW
MOVING THROUGH THE SILVERADO BURN AREA. THE DEBRIS FLOW CAN CONSIST
OF ROCK…MUD…VEGETATION AND OTHER LOOSE MATERIALS.
* FLASH FLOODING WILL REMAIN OVER MAINLY RURAL AREAS OF EAST CENTRAL
ORANGE COUNTY.
FLASH FLOODS AND DEBRIS FLOWS ARE LIKELY TO OCCUR IN THE SILVERADO
CANYON AREA DUE TO HEAVY RAIN FALLING OVER THE SILVERADO FIRE BURN
SCAR. THIS INCLUDES HOMES AND BUSINESSES IN AND AROUND SILVERADO
CANYON ROAD. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR SILVERADO CANYON
RESIDENTS…AND IMMEDIATE MEASURES SHOULD BE TAKEN TO PROTECT LIFE
AND PROPERTY.
Instruction: PERSONS IN THE VICINITY OF THE SILVERADO BURN AREA SHOULD EVACUATE
IMMEDIATELY.
